Lynn Minmay         

Lynn Minmay is one of the main characters from Super Dimensional Fortress Macross. In the beginning of the anime, she serves as the love interest of Hikaru Ichijo. She has a wonderful singing talent, and after winning the Miss Macross pageant, she becomes a famous singing idol. Her song is even used as a weapon against the alien Zentraedi forces. Eventually, Minmay begins to doubt her love for singing, and she returns to Hikaru. Hikaru, who has become entangled with Misa Hayase, has mixed feelings about it. In the end, Minmay realizes that she sang for her loved ones, and she departs to find her sincere song. Minmay is also featured in the movie Macross: Do You Remember Love?

Lynn Minmei is the English counterpart of Minmay. Macross, along with two other unrelated titles, were all merged into one contiguous series by Harmony Gold. Minmei is an important player in the Macross Saga, the English adaptation of Macross. She is portrayed as much more childish, spoiled and selfish. After the Macross Saga ends, Minmei is not seen again until The Sentinels begins. By then, a lot less emphasis is put on her singing, and she is basically sullen, moody, and still overly childish.

Minmay is my favorite anime female of all-time. I have to say that I admire everything about her, because it's the truth. Her songs were what made me really fall in love with singing, even if it is just a hobby. Regardless of how other people bash her, Minmay will always have a special place in my heart.
